Community Benefits of a Skatepark

Enhance, Improve and Revitalize.
Installing a Who Skates poured-in-placed concrete skatepark can visually and functionally enhance, improve and revitalize old, worn tennis/basketball courts, playgrounds, parking areas and unsightly lots.  We’ve designed parks on reclaimed landfills, schoolyards, stump dumps, abandoned mill sites... even on solid rock.  Replacing your old, worn prefabricated skatepark with a concrete skatepark will result in much quieter and aesthetically pleasing conditions for surrounding neighbors.

Safer Skate Environment
Skateboarding is a healthy activity that is as safe as any traditional sport.  However, it is not safe if there is no safe place to skate.  Most skateboarding injuries are caused by the uneven riding surfaces of public streets, sidewalks, stairs and curbs.  Commercial and private developments provide these tempting riding obstacles as well.  Under these conditions, these features are not designed and constructed with skater-safety in mind.  Skateparks are designed specifically for the enjoyment and safety of skateboarders.  Less than 5% of all skateboarding injuries occur in skateparks.

Save Your Community Money Over Prefab
A concrete park can save money over prefab in overall design and installation costs.  Concrete skateparks are very low maintenance.  Repairs can be made by local contractors in a timely and cost effective manner.   (see Concrete vs. Prefab)

Boost Local Business
With proper planning, a high quality skatepark can attract athletes and their families from surrounding communities to spend the afternoon in your town.  They will need to gas up, grab a bite to eat and hit the store before returning home.  In addition, unlike unreliable, short-lived prefabricated skatepark equipment that is trucked in from different parts of the country, a majority of the materials used to build our solid, poured-on-site concrete skateparks are purchased locally in your area, giving your own economy a boost.

Youth Athletic Development
A concrete park, no matter how big or small, will provide a crucial venue for young aspiring skaters... some kids may never realize their hidden athletic talent for this sport without a safe, well planned space for them to practice their skills.  Imagine a town without a baseball field!

Inspire Local Skaters and Athletes
Our high-quality parks provide local street skaters a much safer, more vibrant, inspiring and fun place to skate.
